Born in Joliet to the Late George and Angeline (Policandriotes) Griparis, she was a lifelong resident. A charter member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, serving her church as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. Charter member of the Daughter’s of Penelope and the Philoptochos Society. Lifetime member of Pershing School PTA and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary primarily serving in the gift shop. Founding advocate of Joliet Area Community Hospice where she was recognized for all her efforts in 2011. Preceded in death by her husband, Pete J. Honiotes; son, John P. Honiotes; her parents and one sister, Sophie Kontos. Donald R. Fonza Age 83, of Shorewood, passed away suddenly, Monday, July 28, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center emergency room. Born May 31, 1931 in Syracuse, New York, he was the son of the late Benjamin Edward and Grace Mary (Shero) Fonza. He had a distinguished 20 year career with the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He later was Inspection Supervisor for Exxon Mobil Oil Company for 20 years. Don was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Mobil Retirees Club. He was a loving husband, devoted father and beloved grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed life and loved to fish, read and listen to music. Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Dorothy A. (Dombroski) Fonza; four children, Cheryl D. Lindsay, David M. Fonza, Donna M. Amalia Rosas Hernandez, passed peacefully and called to the Lord’s side on Monday, July 28, 2014. She was born to Rosendo and Herculana Rosas on August 25, 1945 in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico. Our loving sister Amalia was a lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois. She was a talented seamstress/designer, knitter, crocheter, cook, card and domino player; a loving sister and a second mom to all her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Amalia was a dedicated caregiver to both her parents Rosendo and Herculana Rosas until they passed. Preceded in death by her father, Rosendo Rosas Gutierrez (2005), her mother, Herculana Rosas Hernandez (2003), her siblings Manuel (2012), Rosendo Jr. (1974), Maricela (1961). Her paternal and maternal grandparents Jose and Belem Rosas and Gabriel and Herminia Hernandez. Born in Morris, IL December 10, 1938 to the late Margaret (nee Simpson) and Howard Finch, he was raised in Verona, attending Verona grade school and Mazon High School. Beloved husband of nearly 50 years to Mary Ann (nee Miller) Finch of Verona; loving father of Jennifer (Ronald) Frye of Seneca and Jeff (Jeanette) Finch of Verona. Proud and devoted grandfather of Erica Frye of Champaign, Kyle Finch of Bloomington, Ryan Frye of Kinsman, David Frye of Seneca, Addison Frye of Seneca, Jaxson Finch of Verona and another grandchild due in December. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Marie Miller of Streator, brother-in-law, Charles Miller of Genoa and several nieces and nephews. Raymond T. Mutz, age 77, of Joliet, IL and Mesa, AZ, entered eternal life on Monday, August 4, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Nancy (nee Nokes); loving children, Debra and Joseph (Dee Pizer); dear sister, Marian (Al) Govednik; three cherished step-grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, and Josh Pizer; two cherished great-granddaughters, Madison and Brooklyn Pizer; grandpuppy, Quincy; two dear nephews, Al Jr. and Jeff Govednik; as well as numerous loving cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne (nee Solontay) Mutz. Ray was a meat cutter at Kroger for 25 years and retired from the Will County Sheriff’s Department after 8 years of service. Ray loved music and was a drummer ever since the age of three when he began playing with his sister, Marian. He played in several bands including, Horice Heidt, Dick Contino, and Gene Krupa, Versatiles, Fast and Easy, Telecasters, and Bobby Doszak. Ray coached his son, Joe, in baseball and basketball all throughout his childhood and taught him many lesson in sports and in life. Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Clarence R. Georgantas “Teak” Age 86. Peacefully, Monday, August 4, 2014 at his residence, with his family by his side. An Alumni of Joliet Catholic High School Class of 1946. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Teak was a jeweler for over 70 years until his retirement on June 30, 2014. He was owner and operator of G&K Jewelers in Chicago and Georgantas Jewelers in Shorewood. He loved being a jeweler and had a passion for repairing old watches and clocks. He enjoyed all of the visits to his store by his family members, long time friends and customers. Teak had a unique sense of humor and was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, George (Georgetta) and Robert (Gloria) Georgantas; and one sister, Betty Bick.
