Charlotte Dean Stuhlman “Dee” (nee Howard) Age 56. Peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, following a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving and devoted husband by her side until she was called home. Born in Charleston, S.C., she was a Minooka resident for the past ten years. Charlotte was a lover of all animals. Preceded in death by her father, Robert Howard (1992); one niece, Jennifer Evans (1985). Survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Dave (Dave’s Damn Computers) Stuhlman of Minooka; her mother, Barbara (nee Watkins) Howard of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one sister, Rhonnda (Marty) Opoien of Minnesota; brother, Randy (Alecia) Howard of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; mother-in-law, Charlene (late Jerry) Blackwell; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Ronald J. Kalcic, age 88, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 10, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Ronald is survived by his loving children, Brian (Lynn), Bruce (Janet) and Karen Kalcic; dearest grandchildren, Christine and Andrew (Margaret) Kalcic; sister, Diane Kalcic; brother, Abbot Dismas Kalcic O.S.B.; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife, Charlis R Kalcic (nee Welch) (1978); two children at infancy; his parents, Rudolph and Frances (nee Culik) Kalcic; three sisters, Lorraine (Ben) Morris, Sylvia (Joseph) Plese and Marie Kalcic; brother-in-law, Lawrence (Helen) Welch. Ronald was born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. He retired as a Foreman from Olin Corporation in 1982 following 35 years of service. He was a US Navy World War II veteran serving in the Pacific Theatre. Ronald was a lifetime member of Cantigny Post VFW #367, American Legion Post #1080, and Olin Retirees Club. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald’s name may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church St. Vincent DePaul Society. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to The Joliet Area Community Hospice. A Celebration of Ronald’s life will begin on Monday, July 14, 2014 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet. Charles L. Farinella “Chuck” “Coach” Age 82. Peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Hospital, Spring Valley, IL following a courageous battle with pneumonia with his family by his side. Born in Chicago, formerly of LaGrange, IL and Morris resident for the past 6 years. A graduate of Kansas State University with a Masters Degree in education and played offensive line on the Wildcat football team. A US Army Korean War Veteran. Retired from Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL as a physical education teacher, football coach, track coach and mentor with over 30 years of service. Preceded by his mother, Minnie Farinella and one brother, Joseph Farinella. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Annette (nee Ancona) Farinella of Morris; two sons, Joseph (Maureen) of Gilbert, AZ and Charles “Chuck” (Sara) Farinella of Woodridge, IL; two daughters, Laurie (Sheldon) Sobol of Morris and Carol (Paul) Radek of Naperville; seven grandchildren, Danielle and Anthony Farinella; Jordann and Megan Farinella and Reese, Griffin and Keagan Sobol; one nephew, Michael (Patty) Farinella; one niece, Jodi (Jim) Fahrenbach also survive. Funeral services for Charles L. Farinella will be Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris for a mass of Christian burial by Fr. Francis J. “Gabe” Gabrys Jr., age 88, entered eternal life on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Francis is survived by his loving daughters, Mary (David) Ferdinand, Patricia Gabrys, Kathryn (Steve) Less, Paula (Donald) Suhadolc and Jamie (Paul) Sovcik; cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Hannah Ferdinand, Donald and Gabriel Suhadolc, Frannie Nolan and Elinor Sovcik; dear great-grandchild, Juniper Ferdinand; loving sister, Margaret (Daniel) Keca; dear sisters-in-law, Tess (the late Richard) Gabrys, Ethel (the late Joseph) Blahunka, Mary (the late Peter) Lazar and Joan (the late Charles) Blahunka; and dear brother-in-law, Robert (the late Cecelia) Seeley. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances (nee Blahunka); parents, Francis and Pauline (nee Strysik); sister, Cecelia Seeley; brothers, Richard and Leonard. “Big Gabe” loved to watch the Chicago Cubs and played in the Chicago White Sox farm league. He was an avid gardener. Frank enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was very proud of his hole-in-one. Frank worked as a claim agent for EJ & E Railway Co. for 35 years. He served proudly as a Marine and was a member of the American Legion Post 1080 for 60 years. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all of those who have cared for Frank during the past several years. A special thank you to nephew, Richard Gabrys and Mark and Linda Mufich, “best neighbors ever.” In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Frank’s name, to the Alzheimer’s Association, 850 Essington Rd. Five grandchildren Beth Ann, Heather, Amy, Tiffany (Jay) Kolb and Robbie. A great-grandson Dade Allen. Five step-grandchildren Bryan, Jeffrey and Timothy Sargent, Amy Smith and Kim (Jake) Alcaraz. Preceded in death by her husband Wilson “Bill” D. Thomas (2003), a son Leslie Thomas (2003) and a granddaughter Krystle M. Thomas (2008) Claudine was born in Joliet, September 10, 1933. She graduated from Joliet Township High School and retired from Barretts Hardware Co. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road, Monday, July 14 at 10:00 A.M. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery. Edmund R. Blowers, age 55, entered eternal life on Friday, July 11, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Ed was a teacher. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Nicki (nee Todorovich); beloved daughters, Amanda and Sarah; sister-in-law, Nancy (Mark) Ferencik; brother-in-law, Richard (Dan) Todorovich; niece, Lauren Ferencik; great uncle, Joseph F. Jonish; brother, Charles Blowers Sr.; sisters, Lori Blowers and Susan Platts; sister-in-law, Nancy Blowers; lifelong friends, Mike Torri and Tim DeJule; two cats, Smokey and Shadow; and his faithful companion, Riley AKA Spot the Wonder Dog; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Edmund R. and Delores (nee Pasdertz) Blowers; brother, Ralph Blowers; and niece, Cynthia Mendez (nee Blowers). Ed was a member of KSKJ St. Francis de Sales #29 and American Federation of Musicians Local #37. Ed was employed by various area colleges and high schools throughout his career as well as Harrah’s Casino. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the doctors and staff, especially Dr. Winkleman, who cared for Ed during this difficult time. Of Orland Park, Sun City West, AZ. and a longtime resident of Joliet passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital, Thursday, July 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Age 87 years. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Marion Saxon (nee Heitzman) and his loving children Linda (Oriano) Pagnuci, David (Rita) Saxon and Alan Saxon. He was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren and eight precious great-grandchildren who were the joy of his life and brought him so much happiness. He was a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Saxon, three sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter Mickey was a 36 year employee of Commonwealth Edison. He always loved watching westerns and Lawrence Welk with his wife. Mickey’s memory will remain with us forever. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Orland Park and Mokena, the Orland Township Senior Transportation Group for its loving care and Dr. Amit Joshi for his compassionate care. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Tuesday, July 15 from 10:00 A.M. until services at 11:00 A.M. Interment Elmhurst cemetery. Of Crest Hill, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at home, Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Age 97. Survived by a son Ted (Donna) Bostrom, two daughters Lynn (David) Swanson, Kay (Lee) Bettenhausen, two step-daughters Janet Durin and JoAnn Streling; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her first husband Harold Bostrom (1963), her second husband Andrew Jackson (2002), a son David Bostrom (1989), her parents Edward and Lillian Parry, her sister Phyllis Jeske. Longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She was blessed with the gift of music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She loved the Lord and had taken him as her Savior as a teenager. Funeral services will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2437 Plainfield Road, Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 AM. Memorials the church will be appreciated. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.

Passed away at his residence, Monday, July 7, 2014. Age 89 years. Survived by his loving wife Madeline F. Aleshire (nee Regnier) Two sons Chuck (Kimberly) Aleshire and William Aleshire, a daughter Julie (Phillip) Doyle. Five grandchildren Emily and Christopher Aleshire, Tom, Joe and Kate Ponce. His brother Richard Aleshire. Preceded in death by a son Timothy Aleshire (1989), daughter-in-law Tammy Aleshire (2005), four brothers and a sister. Chuck was born in Columbus, OH., February 18, 1925. Veteran of the U.S. Navy Armed Guard during W.W. II and retired from the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean War and Vietnam War. Member of American Legion Post #1080. Chuck retired from the City of Joliet in 1987 where he worked as a graphic artist designing the city automobile stickers and drawing courtroom exhibits. Chuck also was an accomplished wood carver and enjoyed carving totem poles and many other southwestern themed pieces. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Monday, July 14 at 11:00 A.M. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M.

While raising her family she worked as a typist; for Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, then for International Fabricare, finally for Dept. of Public Aid, State of Illinois where she retired. Pat loved shopping, sewing, music and swimming; and will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Cremation by Woodlawn Cemetery, interment will be private. Patricia was also a veteran of the United States Army. Surviving are her son, Timothy A. Kilby of Joliet; her brothers and sisters, James R. (Susan) McLean of Joliet, Kathleen (John) Ramsey of Joliet, Lawrence R. (Bua) McLean of Seneca, IL, Carol M. Huddleston of Joliet, and Robert S. (late Jo Ann) McLean Sr. of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded by her husband, George Kilby; one son, Dennis A. Donald F. Weber Age 83, of Coal City, passed away July 15th, 2014 at 10:15 pm. Born January 1, 1931 in Ransom, IL. he was a graduate of Streator High School, Class of 1949. Donald worked for Commonwealth Edison, first in Streator, and later in Joliet, as a lineman and substation construction crew leader, retiring with over 40 years service. He was a 56 year member and former board member of CECO Recreation Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with his family at CECO. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane (nee Lehmann) Weber; his children, Anthony (Margarite) Weber of Joliet, IL, John (Lynn) Weber of Cedar Rapids, IA, Joseph (Christine) Weber of Streator, IL, Margaret Humbracht of Decatur, IL and Jeanne (Scott) McLeod of Albuquerque, NM.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Zappa of Dwight; and nieces and nephews.
