Lillian A. (Lyman) Denneau “Mimi” (nee Fiday) Age 90, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 24, 1924 to Anne (nee Pershey) and Joseph Fiday in Plainfield where she was raised and educated. Lillian attended the Foss Elementary School, a one room school house located at Essington and Caton Farm Road. She was a graduate of Plainfield High School with the Class of 1943. Survived by her husband, Francis “Frank” Denneau; daughter, Dianne (Raymond) Kinnary; son, Ron (Pam) Lyman; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Gierich, Jerry Lyman, Joe Lyman, Brian Lyman, Scott Lyman, Jim (Melody) Lyman; Raeann (Todd) Hohenwater, Crystal (Sean) Bonera and Larry Lyman, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Evy and Ben; Lindsey and Zach; Breanne, Georgie and Lillian; Casey and Andrew; also survived by her brother, Jay (late Vera) Fiday; sister-in-law, Myrnie Fiday; stepdaughters, Joanne (John) Weigt, Diane (Dave) Maxfield and Susan Denneau; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Lyman; daughter, Kathy Batis; son, Larry Lyman (Joan); and three brothers, Ray, Bud and Bill Fiday. Lillian was an active member of St. Mary Immaculate Church and a member of the 1023 C. B. Club. She was an excellent seamstress and a fantastic homemaker who also enjoyed playing the piano and organ. Funeral Services for Lillian Lyman Denneau will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery. Henry M. Stratz Age 92. Passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, August 4, 2015 with his family by his side. A resident of Joliet since 1976, and formerly of Minooka, he farmed for many years in Seward Township, and retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in Joliet. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and was honored to participate in the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on May 6, 2015. Henry was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, where he was an active volunteer in many of the church activities. He was a Fourth Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus and charter member of Good Shepherd Council #5573 in Plainfield. He was also a member of the Machinists Union Retirees Club and the Caterpillar Retirees group. Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie (nee Moran) Stratz; seven children, Charles William (Gail) Stratz of Morris, Mary Ann Graf of Tempe, AZ, Karen Marie (Frank) Castiello of Tustin, CA, Susan Catherine Sankins of Ashmore, IL, James Michael Stratz of Tustin, CA, Joseph Albert (Colleen) Stratz of Cottonwood, AZ and Theresa Louise (Steve) Cortese of Mt. Prospect, IL; ten grandchildren, Tim (Julie) Stratz, Sarah Graf, Alex Stratz, John (Leah) Stratz, Jake Stratz, and Matt, Amanda, Megan, Tommy and Nick Cortese; one great-granddaughter, Amethyst Stratz; two sisters, Mary Emily (late Paul) Christensen of Big Rapids, MI and Ann Agnes (Merrill) Heald of Fountain Hill, AZ; three brothers, Gordon (Nelda) Stratz of Big Rapids, MI, Albert (Marilyn) Stratz of Los Altos, CA and Richard (late Eleanor) Stratz of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Jane Sporar (nee Muhlig) Formerly of Joliet, passed away peacefully at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Chicago Heights, Friday, August 7, 2015. Age 95 years. Survived by her daughter Jill (Greg-deceased) Postma and a son John (Jan) Hamrin. A sister Elizabeth L. Johnson. Seven grandchildren Daniel (Victoria) Telfer, Seamus (Erica) Hamrin, Robb (Aly) Telfer, Keith (Kelly) Postma, Ash Hamrin, Ryan (Heidi) O’Hanley and Andrew O’Hanley. Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Sporar, her parents Arnold and Helen (nee Wolling) Muhlig and a brother Don Muhlig. Born in Joliet and a lifetime resident. Member of the Faith Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler, a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame, the Will County Sports Hall of Fame, President of the USBA WBA for over 27 years, member of the Joliet Hall of Pride, and wrote the bowling column for the Joliet Herald News for nearly 60 years. She was the longest writing sports columnist in the country. Retired from Strike –n- Spare in Lockport, formerly employed with Peterson Printing. Andrew “Drew” G. Griparis – Passed away peacefully at the Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Thursday, July 30, 2015. Age 92. Survived by his two children Skip (Carol) Griparis and Andrea (Artis) Mebane; two granddaughters Carmen and Melina Mebane. Three sisters Mimi Howland, Penny Obren and Helen Chioles, two brothers James and John Griparis. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents George and Angeline Griparis and two sisters Sophie Kontos and Mary Honiotes. Born in Joliet April 3, 1923 and a longtime Joliet resident. Retired after well over 60 years of inventing and developing consumer and industrial products, portrait scultping and helping others. He attended Mechanics Institute, and a veteran of the US Army where he first served as a high-speed Morse-code operator and then as a combat-Judo instructor, with the 4th Air Force. Robert T. Holomshek “Chuck” Age 47 years, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 7, 2015 at home. Born in Chicago on July 25, 1968, he has resided in Joliet/Plainfield for several years. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps as a crew chief. He was a gifted artist, prolific in many mediums. Bob found self expression and healing through his art. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eleanor (nee Kotlinski) Holomshek. Survived by his three siblings, Pam (Paul) Kruse, Fran Holomshek and Frank Holomshek. His special dog and friend, Penny and by nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 4 to 8 pm. Elaine A. Blasdel (nee Ringfelt) Age 86, a lifetime Joliet area resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, Friday, August 14, 2015. Born December 25, 1928 to the late Ruth and Walter Ringfelt, Elaine attended Joliet schools and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. She worked for Paul Harvey in her earlier years and retired from the Joliet Herald News after many years of service. Beloved mother of Gayle (Harry) Quinlan of Channahon, IL and Diane (Joe) Prillwitz of Mosnee, WI; loving grandmother of Kristin Prillwitz, Melissa (Keith) Allen, Heidi Prillwitz, Jonathon (Madison) Prillwitz and Kelly (Ron) Dube. A proud and devoted great grandmother of Quinn Allen and Olivia Dube; she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of three (including twins) additional great grandkids due later this year. Also survived by her long-time special friend, Glenn Brosel. Preceded in death by her husband, Gene Blasdel as well as her parents. Elaine, an eternal optimist who always had a smile on her face, held great hope in Christ and was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. She enjoyed winter visits to Windward Passage in Ft. Myers, FL, but her most favorite moments were spent being with her family. Funeral services for Elaine A. He was employed for many years as a Lithographer with Bosch and Schmitt Printing before retiring. Member of the Chicago Graphic Arts Local # 458. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Preceded in death by his parents, John L. and Rose (nee Chelini) Garavaglia. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret A. (nee Linstead) Garavaglia; 3 children, Karen (Dale) Fritz, John (Denise) Garavaglia and Diane Garavaglia; Five grandchildren, Jimmy (fiancée, Rebecca Blaskey) and Craig Fritz; Christopher, Eric and Daniel Garavaglia; his aunt Lorene (late, Fritz) Deltonto and numerous cousins also survive. Mary Jane Burns (nee Erickson) Age 82, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 24, 2015 at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital. Born August 12, 1933 in Joliet to the late Mary Jane (nee Williams) and Fred Erickson, she was raised in Elwood, IL and had resided in Joliet all of her adult life. Mary Jane received an Associates degree from Joliet Junior College and a bachelor degree from the University of St. Francis. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as an area educator, spanning over 50 years, with 40 of those years at Elwood Community School District and a decade at St. Joseph Catholic grade school in downtown Joliet. Survived by her son, Dennis (Sherry) Burns; daughter, Jane Marie (Thomas) Wojcik; sisters-in-law, Ann Burns and Arminta Burns; brother-in-law Thomas Tyler; two nieces, Kathy, nee Rowan (late Wendell) Brockett and Jayne, nee Rowan (John) Ballun; one nephew, Thomas (Jackie) Tyler, Jr. Mary Jane was also the loving grandmother of Tom, Jillian, Ally, Stephanie and Brennan whom she adored immensely. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert “Denny” Burns (2014); her parents; two sisters, Marjorie, nee Erickson (late Robert) Rowan and Carol (nee Erickson) Tyler; one brother, James Erickson. Mary Jane’s love for teaching and guiding didn’t stop at retirement. She embraced every opportunity to be a presence in the lives of her grandchildren and enjoyed the many bonds she held with former students. Violet Rose Biro (nee Paluzzi) Age 95. Peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Parc of Joliet. Born in Joliet, the daughter of the late Arcangelo and Amelia (Metro) Paluzzi on July 1, 1920, she was a lifelong resident. Violet was strong in her catholic faith and member of the Church of St. Anthony. She enjoyed preparing meals for the clergy at St. Mary Carmelite Catholic Church. Proud of her Italian heritage as well as her family, she had many fond memories of her life in Joliet. Her family is very thankful that she shared her love and skill of cooking that will be handed down to present and future generations. Survived by her two sons, John (Amy) Biro of Oak Creek, WI and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Biro of Mesa, AZ.; four granddaughters, Cristina (John) Benson, Jessica (Kale) Martin, Emily (Jeff) Feliton and Sarah Biro; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Jack Benson; mother-in-law of Jae (the late James R.) Biro and Margaret Biro; three sisters, Lillian (late Joseph) Bonczek, Angela (late Henry) Giermala and Edith (late Chester) D’Atri all of Joliet; generations of nieces and nephews; her companion, Joseph Kinney and a devoted friend to many. Emily Claire Buckley Age 22. Precious child of Jesus, who loved her unconditionally. Born on Valentine’s Day, 1993, twelve minutes after her twin brother, James. Emily jokingly liked to fashion herself as a Norwegian princess, owing to her proud Scandinavian heritage. This stunningly beautiful, blue-eyed, brunette princess went to be with the King of Kings on August 26, 2015, very unexpectedly to us, but called by her King. Emily accepted Christ as a young child, and loved Him until the day that she died. She sometimes lived her life as a prodigal, yet never stopped seeking Him, and His Word, which she cherished. A pink King James Version of the Bible, which was required for her elementary school, was one of Emily’s most treasured possessions. Left to hold her memory close in heart, are her mother, Pam Buckley; her father, Jim Buckley; her twin brother, James Alexander; and her sisters, Amanda Marie and Olivia Katherine. She is also survived by many aunts and uncles, being especially close to her aunt, Anne Marie Konopack, who was a person that was always there for Emily. Additionally, she was dearly loved by her grandparents, Robert Konopack and Brynda Ramsey; and Leroy and Geraldine Buckley. Funeral Services for Emily C. Richard Henry Tea “Dick” Age 85, of Shorewood, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet Township resident before retiring to Shorewood in 2005. A graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1948. A lifelong farmer in Elwood. Also employed at the Joliet Public School District for many years. Preceded in death by his parents, Marks and Mary (nee Baber) Tea; two brothers, John Marks Tea in infancy and Robert W. (Helen) Tea; and a grandson, Brandon Nicholas Fosnaugh (1996). Survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Ellen (nee Cherveny) Tea of Shorewood; two sons, Richard D. (Vicki) Tea of Channahon and James A. (Robyn) Tea of Minooka; one daughter, Diane (Chris) Fosnaugh of Lockport; six grandchildren, Corey Tea, Lindsay Middleton, Brandi (Ron) Miller, Kristin (the late Tim) Williford, Justin Tea, and Chad Fosnaugh; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Logan Middleton; Zachary Williford; Ariella Ashley; Brooke and Ashlyn Miller; and Charlotte Tea; one brother-in-law, George “Duke” (Darlene) Cherveny; and several nephews and cousins also survive. Dick was a fan of most Chicago Sports Teams, the Fighting Illini and also enjoyed watching old Westerns. His most favorite times were spent in the company of his grandkids and great-grandkids. Born March 12, 1944 in Joliet, she was a graduate of St. Francis Academy, Class of 1962. For 27 years, she worked as a waitress for Cemeno’s Pizza. Donna was very artistic, enjoying crafts and sewing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was loving and caring, always giving to others before thinking of herself. Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, Harold L. Raub of Shorewood; three children, Michael (Elizabeth) Raub of Mulino, OR, Kristin (Douglas) Lawler of Shorewood, and Daniel (Christine) Raub of Plainfield; five grandchildren, Michael B. Raub, Megan (Jeff) Maynard, Doug Nelson, Cody Raub and Ashley Raub; two great-grandsons, Evan and Kaleb; one sister, Nancy (Jim) LaCloche of Joliet; one brother, Jack Trubich of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Rosie. Marlene D. Cazeau Age 75, a former Oak Lawn and Tinley Park resident, passed peacefully, Thursday, September 3, 2015. Born in Chicago to the late Dorothy and Henry Kalush. Beloved wife of the late William Edward (2002); loving mother of Jeanann (Brian) Paczesny, William (Lisa) Cazeau and Megan (Justin Meredith) Cazeau; proud grandmother of Melissa (Joon), Samantha, Abigail and Nicholas and six great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Janis (Daniel) Valluzzi. Loving aunt to many nieces, nephews and several lifelong friends. She was a member and minister of care at Our Lady of the Ridge Parish, 10820 Oxford Avenue, Chicago Ridge, where all friends and relatives are invited to gather from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015.
